Farewell and thanks to outgoing TARFish Chair.

The TARFish Board sincerely thank Paul Lennon for the skill and knowledge he brought to TARFish over the last five years.

On his resignation as Independent Chair following the TARFish AGM Paul said, “I am proud of the progress we have made and in particular the effective working relationship built with our Ministers and government, stabilizing our financial position, growing our membership and advancing our organisational renewal goals.

As TARFish steps towards a new era with the imminent implementation of the new constitution, organisational structure and the all important fisher elections, I believe it is the right time to step aside and allow a new, experienced Independent Chair to assist TARFish to complete this important work.

With a new strategic plan in place and a strong team in our CEO, Jane Gallichan, and Fisher Engagement Officer, Kelly Hunt, I firmly believe that TARFish is ready to grow and develop strongly over the next three years.

I am grateful for the support and collaboration I have received from my board colleagues. I have been impressed by your enthusiasm and dedication as volunteers to support, guide and enable TARFish to do the important work it does for recreational fishing, a cornerstone of the Tasmanian way of life.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve in this role. I wish the Board and TARFish continued success in the future.”

John Edwards steps into the role of Acting Chair as TARFish commences the search for a new Independent Chair.
