Make your passion for recreational fishing your profession with this exciting new hands-on engagement role at TARFish.

Highlights:

• $70,000 – $80,000 + super + car

• 3-year full-time contract position

• Work from home anywhere in Tasmania

The role:

Leading TARFish’s fisher engagement activities with a focus on both direct engagement (face-to-face) and online including social media.

Working closely with the CEO, the role is expected to:

  • Deliver a program of public engagement with recreational fishers including creating and attending events for recreational fishers to share their views and receive current and relevant information about recreational fishing

  • Develop TARFish’s online (social media) presence by generating, editing, publishing and sharing content daily and creating safe and enjoyable online communities.

  • Implement fisher stewardship campaigns

  • Deliver TARFish’s communications program including e-news and media

  • Work closely with tackle shops, fishing clubs and other fishing stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes for recreational fishers

  • Develop and implement a membership growth strategy including identifying and developing collaborations with program partners and sponsors

About you:

A self-starter, with a passion for recreational fishing and fishers, you can work remotely and independently maintaining high output levels and achieve outcomes. You can spot an opportunity or create one to benefit the organisation and recreational fishers.

Social media use is an everyday part of life for you and you have a proven track record of positive social media engagement, content generation and ability to build social media communities.

A believer in science-backed sustainable fishing practices you’ll enjoy delivering fishing stewardship programs and getting out on the road and meeting with recreational fishers and fishing stakeholders.

You develop and maintain highly successful, positive working relationships, including the ability to listen, consult, collaborate, negotiate and compromise to ensure effective outcomes.
